Beaches Books Boudoirs Bed & Breakfast...

Villa Monteferrante, the Beach House, is an Italian Heritage Liberty-style villa (1925) on the Adriatic Sea, in Vasto Marina, home to the Rossetti legacy, and the Abruzzo Region's roster of artists & writers, from Ovid, Sallust, D'Annunzio, Silone, and many others.

With only 2 guest rooms, enjoy the romance and privacy of the entire upper floor, its turret for books and wine, bare body and soul on the rooftop terrace overlooking the sea, sail, kite surf, wade in the warm shallow waters of the Adriatic, then have a BBQ amidst olive trees, figs and bougainvillea to end the day in true al fresco fashion.

At the Villa, by choosing the Allegro Suite Option, Villa Monteferrante's guest, alone or in dolce compagnia, has exclusive use of the entire upper floor, the bath, turret, and terrazzo for books & breakfast, beds & boudoirs. And a new kitchenette for SELF-CATERING.

Naturally, the two rooms also translate into being the ideal place for a small family travelling together, or for a weekend retreat for the creative writer or artist in need of peace and quiet, a break from routine and life in the City.

Each room’s décor is unique.

Mare, or Sea, features handmade sea blue bamboo furniture, azure spugnato walls, a wave-like ocean grey bed and a silver sunflower mirror. Sole, or Sun, has been lovingly handglove-painted an antiquated sunny yellow, the theme, a worldly traveler shipwrecked on an idyllic deserted isle.

Our bright sunlit Torretta, with all-round vistas, is just the place for contemplating the oeuvre in progress: oneself.

The spacious rooftop Terrazzo is ideal for sunbathing, or staring at the stars through a glass of wine, or watching the sun dawning on the Adriatic Sea as if for the first time.

The Garden with its delectable fig tree, BBQ & Picnic Area are at your complete disposal.

Breakfast is served on the outdoor terrace, or in the living room in inclment weather. It includes croissants, espresso coffee, cappuccino, choice of cereals/muesli, marmalade, orange juice, fresh fruit, local biscotti, and Nonna Lucia's crostata pie, when she's up to it.

The Book Library features anything from Shakespeare, Dickens, the great Russian classics to contemporary authors - DeLillo, Pynchon, Roth; New York Review of Books;

And there's our country retreat only 30 minutes from PARMA.
